"I- I dunno," she mumbled, leaning into his hand. "Chiara needs to come home… I have to make sure she comes home."

"Wait, comes home on her own or we have to go collect her?" Because he could understand why they’d need to do so. If Cat was falling asleep on him now, who knows what Chiara was going to do and where. Then again, she is her own ball of energy, so maybe she wasn’t as jet-lagged as her mother. This is why he hated planes oh so much. He glanced at his phone quickly for the time before looking back at his wife again. "We should go get her love, just in case."

Nodding agreeably, she yawned, moving to stand up with their hands still entwined. “Le’s go.” She was exhausted though, her eyelids heavy and her feet like cinder blocks. After just one night of sleep though, she would be better. She hoped.

She leaned into his kiss, closing her eyes for the brief moment before he pulled away. Blinking as he snatched up her hands, she bit her lip, listening to him stumble in his Italian. Slowly, she shook her head. “I don’t think so, no,” she voiced softly as he asked. “Only north.” The jetlag was quickly catching up to her though, and her eyes dropped a little. Maybe she only thought he hated piano because she was tired. “I could- I could teach you,” she yawned. ” If you still wanted to learn, anyways.”

His eyes lit up a little at the sound of the prospect, but not enough to disguise the fact that he was a little worried about the flutter in her eyes. “Mm, I’d— like that very much. Maybe not now though, you look tired babe.” Will answered, brushing back her bangs a little. “Or are you going to try staying awake by playing again?”

"I- I dunno," she mumbled, leaning into his hand. "Chiara needs to come home… I have to make sure she comes home."

Her cheeks turned a little pink as she looked up. “So you’re going to stick around for a month before you have to go back to Roma?” A whole month. Kind of sad that that was all, but it was better than nothing. Biting her lip, she shifted a little, her cheeks darkening even more. “I- I thought you hated piano music, though.” Dropping her eyes again to his hand, she tentatively laced their fingers together.

"Eh, technically I’m on call for now. Had most of my stuff sorted before I left so if I do get any work, it’ll probably be next month. But that’s if they need help, which they shouldn’t." He assured his wife gently, leaning over to peck her forehead lovingly before smiling again. Well she was talking again so that was a start and it reassured him some. But soon after, she caught him by surprise almost immediately and couldn’t help but take her hands in his own. "No no no no! Never, I’d never hate piano music. Ever, I swear!" He stumbled on his words in front of her, shifting in his seat to face her. "I grew up with music, learnt it under Arthur’s wing. The lot of us. We just have specific instruments that we’re a lot better at than others. Mine was flute at the time, wish I learned piano while I was still in the house but I left before then." Will chuckled warmly, pulling her hand to his lips. "I don’t hate the piano at all love. I think— you haven’t been to my house down South have you? That’s where the instruments are kept. Including a piano. If that— helps?"

She didn’t notice him join her in her room, rare as it was. Really, it was kind of rare for him to be around at all lately, but her music room was the least expected place for him to join her. So she didn’t even know he was beside her until she reached for a farther octave and her arm bumped him, causing a yelp of surprise to burst through her lips, sending her up onto her feet a couple meters away, hand on her heart. “Gesu Cristo, Will-! You scared me!” Laughing a little hysterically, she took a moment to calm herself down and look a little guiltily at the piano. “I thought you’d left, had to go to Roma or something.” Okay, she was good. Slowly, she sat back down, keeping her fingers in her lap, feeling quite guilty for some reason. He didn’t have any pianos, she’d never even asked why. She kind of assumed he hated the sound. So why would he come in here?

Maybe it wasn’t a good idea that he stayed silent because when she jumped and screamed, he almost did the same with his hands shooting up in his defence quickly, though she did calm herself down pretty fast so that was okay. “Sorry! I’m so sorry! It— I thought you wouldn’t really mind me being here. It just— the house got quiet really fast and I was looking around to see if you were in and here you are~” he explained himself with a nervous laugh to follow, watching as she took her seat again with fingers folded over on her lap. He must’ve really scared her, she went back to being quiet again. “I don’t really feel like going back to work so soon, I just landed. So I’ve got the month off, lucky me aye?” He chimed in finally, met by silence again as she kept her view low and away. “Hey, say something. I don’t wanna look like an egg talking to myself here. Besides, you were playing something really lovely just now, I couldn’t really help myself to come in and listen. I’m sorry for killing your muse so early.” He smiled apologetically, slipping his hand over hers gently to give a little squeeze.

Her cheeks turned a little pink as she looked up. “So you’re going to stick around for a month before you have to go back to Roma?” A whole month. They’d been away from home too long. Cat always got ill when it was way overdue to return home, and it had been horrible- Her head spun, her stomach turned, her appetite disappeared. She nearly fainted, too. But now they were home, in Positano, and it felt so blissfully good to be home. Chiara had already made a break for the town to say hello to her friends, and Cat brought the bags on in, carefully but hurriedly putting her daughter’s clothes in the dresser where they belonged. Then she moved on to her own clothes, likewise putting them away. Will was off doing something else by now, probably sleeping or on a phone call with work at home. So she slid into her office, sitting down at the piano and gently brushing the dust off the polished wood, checking the tuning of all the strings before settling down to play. Will didn’t have a piano in New Zealand, and her fingers ached for the opportunity to play, so much music in her head she couldn’t drive away. And here she did, so she had to take advantage of it. Letting her fingers grace the ivory, she began to play a sweet, slow tune, closing her eyes and letting the music come as it would.

Home, it felt like it anyway. He could see his wife’s condition and soon felt guilty for keeping her away from her home for so long. So off they flew and here they were. William hardly had anytime to see his daughter off, nor any time to himself to even breath before the calls from New Zealand flooded his phone, heaving bags and suitcases into the house with one hand and chatting on his mobile with the other. What a pain. But soon enough, everything had been packed away— but he didn’t know where Catalina had scooted off to. Maybe she went with Chiara? Curious, he began his slow search while on the phone, giving the occasional answer while looking around. And his ears never failed him yet, hearing sweet music play from down the hall. That music room he sparingly visited at all. Ah, there she is. His voice and steps soon softened as he reached the room, peering in to see his wife playing on her piano so skillfully that it brought a warm smile to his face. Not wanting to interfere with the pleasant sounds coming from her through the instrument, he hung up immediately and scooted through the door, padding towards Cat carefully to sit down next to her and just listen in silence.

She didn’t notice him join her in her room, rare as it was. Really, it was kind of rare for him to be around at all lately, but her music room was the least expected place for him to join her. As soon as his hands touched her skin, she realized exactly how cold he was and vocalized it with a shriek, immediately squirming and wiggling to try and get away from his hands. “Will! You’re so cold!” She whined as his hands lay flat on her back, her cheeks turning pink as she tried to push his arms down out of her sweater. “You awful jerk!”

The Kiwi grins mischievously as his wife wriggles and shrieks against him, circling his arms around Catalina’s waist slowly while his hands crawled further up, nosing his way to her neck just to leave a few kisses against her neckline lightly. “Awful jerk? I’m hurt babe, ouch.” He gasps out softly, breathing over his kisses. “So you didn’t really miss me then aye. I gotta fix that soon.” The blond nation murmurs over his lover’s jawline while his now warm hands retreat from underneath her sweater slowly, closing his eyes as he tips in to kiss Cat firmly, melting into her lips all too easily.

Wait, no. Stop that, she wanted to say as his freezing hands crept farther up her shirt, bringing the hem up and exposing her poor belly to the chill that seemed to be coming off him right now. She wanted to move away, but his lips on her neck had her frozen, holding her breath. “Y-You know that isn’t true, you know I missed you.” Shuddering, she tipped her head to the side, trying to give him more skin to kiss. What exactly was he after, right now? Just to tease her again or to go all the way for the first time in forever? It kind of looked like he was just trying to tease again, as his hands withdrew from her sweater without even playing with her bra, which was kind of unusual. But his lips were on hers, so she only sighed in defeat and kissed him back, her fingers moving to hold his shirt.

-pouts a little until he kisses her, lifting her hands to his cheeks as she melts into his lips with a tiny little hum, scooting a little bit to sit on his hips as she pulls him closer to her- I don’t like sweaters. They’re uncomfortable and itchy.

/this is probably a bad idea but Will decides to sneak his hands under her sweater and let his cold fingers roam his lover’s warm skin./ But they’re warm. And they are better than my cold hands, true? /he smirks at the Italian pouting, laying his palms flat on her back./

Ahm… No. Nothing I’m sure you don’t know about. -snuggles up close, finally beginning to relax wow she’s been tense- How was work, while you were gone? Oh… Will you have to work a lot, to make up for what you’ve missed here?

/the blond raises his head up so Cat…

/he chuckles lightly, moving his wife around so she straddles his waist and takes a proper look at her attire, humming to himself./ Nah you look good babe~! Kinda cute actually, but you’re warm so that’s the best bit aye. /Will moves his hands to hold themselves behind Catalina’s back, leaning forward to kiss her softly./

/the blond raises his head up so Cat can lean in on him while he props his leg up a little to bring his lover closer to him, arms coiling around her waist while fingers drew circles into his wife’s hip gently./ I’m obligated to say that work was good, though I want to say otherwise. Just the whole being away from you and Chiara makes things difficult you know? /Will scoffs and shakes his head a little, his hand finding hers to intertwine his fingers between her tips./ If I had to play catch up then they better find another way to get it to me because I’m not going into the office again. So no, I won’t be working for a while. It’s kinda cold love, you not feeling the chill or you used to it now?

-whines a little when he shifts, then sighs contentedly when he’s just moving her closer- I had to get used to it. See, I even put on a sweater. -looks down at herself, pursing her lips- I still think it looks dumb, though. -scrunches down close and squirms, wanting to be able to wrap her arms around him-
